My Story

After working for 17 years as a teaching assistant in a middle school, I have supported and encouraged countless children as they navigated friendship, confidence and identity. It was during these years that the idea for Sam’s World was born-inspired by the resilience, imagination and quiet courage I witness every day in the classroom.

Sam’s World follows 9 year old Sam, who is diagnosed with autism and struggles to fit into his new middle school. When reality feels overwhelming, Sam escapes into the safety of the library-where books become doorways to extraordinary adventures, beginning with a thrilling journey into a prehistoric world. Through Sam’s story, I hope to celebrate differences, nurture empathy and remind every child that their unique way of seeing the world is a strength.

As both a parent and an educator, I believe every child deserves to see themselves reflected in stories-especially those who may feel a little different. the importance of stories that build confidence, compassion and belonging.

When I’m not writing, I enjoy family life in Droitwich and long walks with my two rescue dogs.

My mission is simple, to create stories that inspire children to embrace who they are and discover the extraordinary adventures waiting within their imagination.
